Clara is a very quiet but moody little filly. She has a good bond with her jockey, but is still learning that she must not threaten to bite when horses are racing beside her. She has a major fear of the gate. She's scared it will swallow her up if she walks in. She has learnt to break fast, because she hates the gate and wants to get out of it as soon as possible. Despite her gate fear, her running is good. She settles at the front and maintains the pace then speeds it up a bit coming into the home turn. Despite her bad attitude towards horses, her attitude towards racing is really good, and she really puts effort into her racing, despite only being a yearling.

Now fully matured Clara as grown lot through her personality. Her fear with the gates have gone since she been with us. She loads and break cleans which is better than when we first had her, and placing blinkers have helped this. Clara have showed more aggression when she on the track now and tends to dominated the front more and stalks the leader, than fighting with the jockey to go back home.
