Best Prospect Colt HOTY Y11
Registry Number || 1205
Barn Name || Edition
Age || 2yrs [yr10]
Gender || Colt
Height || 16.2hh
Colour || Red Chestnut
Markings || Star/Stripe and Left Front Sock
Personality || Knowing his half brother attention span was really low, we were really glad to see that Edition wasn't like that. Due to his age, he is really curious and want to check everything out. He is also very cheeky, and would nip you if he could get away with it. His docile nature was sired down from his father, and also his gentle spirit. When edition is older his nature wouldn't change in the pasture and stall. On the track he can get exticting and curious nature makes him fight on the bit, and difficult to train. As he matures and experience grow, the fighting would stop and his mind would be more focus on the training in hand.
Bloodlines || Gold Edition x Palisades Silver
Pedigree Evaluations || Bred by Star Thoroughbreds Farm, we even own this colt's half brother Lucky Silver. What brought our attention to this prudy little colt is that his sire Gold Edition, finished his racing career at Grade Three and with a track record of 30-9-6-4 which is pretty good. His dam Palisades Silver finished her racing career young at Grade Five and with a track record of 16-3-3-1. Alright his half brother Lucky is showing great success with his training which gives us hope that the bloodline is great.
History || Bought from a weanling sale from Star Thoroughbred Stables
Racing Leg || Mid-Pack
Racing Style || Edition is still really young and his breaking from the gates is little bumpy. This in toll makes his stride slowed down and makes him about four lengths behind the pack. Despite the late start he still run, showing courage and real heart. In about two furlongs he is stalking the two bottom horses's quarter's waiting for to make his move. In about two more furlongs into the race, his position would be in the middle [if it's a seven horse race he would in fourth position], and along the outside to avoid being boxed in and hold this position as much as possible. Creeping by four length until he is in third or second position ready to challenge for the lead. When the final stretch comes, his true speed comes to light, and he would flank the leader, challenge to take the lead, refusing to give up until he cross the line or when the race is over.
